Services
Provision of CAPEX & Maintenance related activities:

Capital Project Services

Pre-Construction:
-
Quote for concept Scope of Work creation.
-
Production of concept Scope of Work definition with Process Flow Diagrams, P&ID’s, process calculations & isometric layouts of existing, deconstruction & construction phases complete with cost estimates for client funding approval to ± percentage accuracy as required.
-
Concept revisions to all documents following feedback including regulation checklist, process calculations and detailed system isometrics for operational/EHS approval, including ergonomics review & accurate quotations.
-
SHE Studies, Hazard Studies 1-6 and Process Hazard Analysis to suit on-site standards.
-
Determination of the required Safety Integrity Level (SIL ) of automated systems through the application of LOPA.

-
Pressure Relief Study of the system to ensure safe operation of Plant and Services.
-
For large projects, early development of the commissioning plan allows construction to be carried out in the most efficient order to aid start-up.
-
Pipe routing, fabrication isometrics & supports, with stress analysis & piping specifications if required.
-
Planning of project stages in conjunction with site operations to minimise production impact.
-
Progress reporting on funding, schedule & scope including running costs of potential options.
Site Works:
-
Arranging contractor site access & inductions.
-
Permit to work creation, including hot works & supervision of construction activities co-ordinated with operations & EHS.

-
Developing Control System logic for safe and efficient plant operation and control (typically in co-ordination with client automation team)

-
Commissioning & plant handover, including assistance with compliance of regulations, including CE marking.
Post Works:
-
Updating of drawings & documents, with hyperlinks to all documentation in iso layouts/P&ID’s and 3D models to as-built drawings.
-
Creation of Operating Instructions, Maintenance Schedules & training of operations in use of new systems.
-
Technical support.

Maintenance & EHS Investigation Services
Experienced in providing Maintenance related documents a well as EHS action plan & problem solving to comply with notifications - examples below:
1). Authoritative report on piping failure for Health & Safety Investigation with short-term resolution & permanent fix to map system, resolving design issues & providing piping specification to prevent future issues, including incorrect materials for piping & seals.
2). Chemical drainage systems & treatment - short-term workaround while permanent solution was being worked on.
3). LEV system modifications – nozzle redesign & operational improvements for immediate resolution while redesign of entire system was developed as part of CAPEX project.
4). Layout of existing systems & description of how they work, including maintenance instructions – Many sites rely on contracting companies to service their equipment, leaving them open to faults outside their control.
5). Bund volume studies to determine existing capacities & for future expansion options.
6). Process resolution of syphoning system which impaired flowmeter function.
7). Commissioning of level instruments.

Experienced in compliance with the below standards:
-
ATEX/DSEAR - Hazardous Area Classification studies.
-
Ageing Plant
-
CDM – Satisfying roles of Designer & Principal Designer as well as advising throughout construction, carrying out commissioning works & updating of all documents.
-
COMAH
-
PED/PSSR
-
RIDDOR
-
Piping design typically to ASME B31.

Method of Work
Able to work at client sites or remotely following surveys our method of work differs from other suppliers as isometric sketches are produced from a manual survey which verifies the P&ID’s & enables early review of space requirements, resulting in more realistic solutions, improved Scope of Work definitions and ultimately more accurate schedule and cost estimates.
This bridges the gap between what client management requires & what the construction contractor and suppliers of equipment require, thus eliminating expensive design & construction phase revisions. 3D models are only used when required in congested areas, reducing time & cost during design phases.
In our experience scanning & model creation at the start of a project is costly, time consuming & accuracy is not as high as required (typically scans do not pick up any pipes smaller than 2” diameter) and the model is of little use to the construction team. Whereas a simple isometric layout of the system contains all the information required to quote, fabricate & construct.
To satisfy the information requirements of the engineering team & fabricators in the most cost-effective manner the method of work is as follows:
-
Concept – PFD's, P&ID’s and sketch layouts to explore options.
-
Hazard & layout/ergonomic studies.
-
Quotations from contract suppliers.
-
Funding appraisal, with estimated running costs of options.
-
Fabrication drawings.
-
Progress reporting on funding, schedule & scope.
-
Arranging of site works in co-ordination with plant operations, including production of installation/modification layouts for construction. (Pre-Task meetings).
-
Permit issuing & supervision of works.
-
Commissioning of systems & handover to plant.
-
Snagging.
-
Documentation & certification of works along with operating & maintenance instructions.
Final isometric layouts & 3D models are created/updated from as-built information to avoid re-doing work - this assists future projects as their accuracy is known.
The same people work on the project from start to finish to prevent passing of problems onto the next phase – if people know they will be forced to deal with future problems they provide concrete solutions earlier, preventing re-examination when the specifics are required.
